The team also works on big machines like cranes, forklifts, port tractors, bulldozers, etc., known in EU jargon as Non-Road Mobile Machinery (NRMM). The climate team on the other hand works on the EU's climate policy architecture, including carbon pricing, the social climate fund, the new 2040 climate target and fossil fuel supply regulation and taxation.
Sofie joined T&E in May 2020 after three years working as policy coordinator for climate, energy and environment at the Flemish socialist party. She holds a master degree in international politics, and kick-started her career advising companies on their commuting policy. She sits on the Sounding Board of the Belgian network for companies with Science Based Targets (Belgian Alliance for Climate Action).
