Thomas joined Transport & Environment in October 2016. After obtaining his PhD in engineering at the University of Sydney, he spent two and a half years as a postdoctoral research fellow in France. His research was in the domain of environmental engineering and fluid mechanics, where he honed his programming skills and analysis of big data. At T&E, he analyses transport and climate data, conducts research, and has helped develop their transport model. Thomas speaks French and is making solid progress on Dutch. Outside the office, he is a keen footballer, cyclist, and classical guitar player.
T&E’s quarterly trends series gives a snapshot of the key developments that will define the future of transport.
