These recommendations answer the two main questions on the ReFuelEU proposal for the French presidency
The Commission’s original ReFuelEU proposal back in July 2021 went some way towards selecting the right types of sustainable aviation fuels: advanced or synthetic. More ambition is needed for e-kerosene, which is the only fuel type that can be sustainably scaled up to meet the fuel demands of the sector, instead of encouraging the production of unsustainable biofuels.
More information on our overall ReFuelEU recommendations can be found in our position paper.
