The Austrian government has agreed to raise the cost of using the country’s motorway and trunk road system by €0.042 per kilometre.

T&E’s Austrian member says the rise in the toll is a “step towards better coverage of costs by the user, and towards a nationwide system covering all roads”. Unlike the Swiss and German motorway tolls, Austria’s toll does not differentiate by emissions class.
