Environmental groups in France have reacted angrily to a Commission communication entitled “The EC is encouraging the development of regional airports and mobility in Europe”.
[mailchimp_signup][/mailchimp_signup]Members of the “Réseau Action Climat – France” (Action Group for Climate – France) said they were astonished to receive the news release (IP/05/1097), which they say is not only a contradiction of the EU’s Common Transport Policy but runs counter to the growing evidence of aviation’s impact on climate change.
A statement from the 13 members said: “This text effectively testifies to the Commission’s wish to motivate certain companies to take steps to add to mobility in Europe.”
